What does Om mean?

What is Om?… Om is a sacred syllable  that is considered to be the greatestof all the mantras, or sacred formulas.

In all ancient wisdom teachings it is believed that the infinite spirit consciousness first created sound (vibration).
From these sound frequencies the entire universe was manifested.

This mystical syllable represents all that is, all that was, and all that ever shall be.

It represents the universal connection we all have to one another.

Om mystically embodies the essence of the entire universe. A place of manifesting vibration from which all manifestations are possible. Saying “OM” is actually a form of meditation.

Repetition of “OM” enables us to maintain mental and emotional calmness, overcome obstacles and enables a greater awareness of our connection to all life.

The syllable Om (an ancient sanskrit symbol) is composed of the three sounds a-u-m (in Sanskrit, the vowels a and u coalesce to become o), which represent an important triad: the three worlds of earth, atmosphere, and heaven.

When making the sound Om, the first sound vibrates at the base of the spine, the first chakra (human energy centers).

The second sound vibrates in the throat and chest chakras, and the third sound vibrates in the cranial chakras.

Ommmmmmm.
